Hello! This was a great week for ringing, and it started off with a quarter peal! On Monday I rang Grandsire Doubles inside for the first time:

Ringing World BellBoard
1260 Grandsire Doubles rung at Camberwell (St Giles), Greater London

That bell felt heavy to lug around, and we did it with haste. By the end my hands hurt and I was sweating, but it felt great to finally do. And it was a gorgeous sunset!

On Tuesday it was practice night in Stratford, then on Wednesday I went to ring at St Nicholas in Warwick for the first time. Lovely bells and a lovely group; I was easily one of the least experienced there; they did lots of "Surprise" methods (i.e., fancy), but we did a few touches of Grandsire Triples which was great. I can feel a quarter peal of that brewing...

And this Sunday morning, Sunday service in Stratford. There were only 6 of us, and we started with some clanky methods on the front 6 bells, then moved to the back 6 which had lovely and slow yet slightly mournful sound; I called some changes, and off we went.

That could be my last Sunday service ringing here for a while — on Wednesday I'm heading off to London with my boat, but not without stopping at a few bell towers en route...

Until next Sunday!
